#18 Hotel Utah

Opening the same year as the Rio Grande Station, the Hotel Utah was built by Parkinson and Bergstrom for $2 million.  And even though the building was mostly owned by the LDS Church, one of the largest bars in the western United States was built in its basement.

In 1987 the hotel was closed and was extensively remodeled. It reopened in 1993 as the Joseph Smith Memorial Building.
